Updating an obsolete intruder alarm system for St Michael’s College

Bringing an out-of-date alarm system in line with the start-of-the-art facilities on offer at this boys’ grammar school.

Electrical contractor GR White brought us in to handle the security aspects of its contract to undertake electrical refurbishments at St Michael’s College in Enniskillen. This primarily required an upgrade of the grammar school’s outdated intruder alarm system.

We were tasked with designing, installing and commissioning a new intruder alarm to protect the school and its property, as well as fulfilling the school’s insurance obligations in relation to its alarm system.

The perfect alarm for a spacious site

Working through the summer holidays to avoid any disruption to the learning of St Michael’s 700 pupils, we installed a Honeywell Galaxy intruder alarm system. This very reliable, tried and tested alarm system is one of our favoured choices when we are installing security systems on larger sites.

The option to create up to 500 zones on the alarm system made it the perfect option to protect a school with several buildings and multiple entrances spread across a spacious site.

Deterring intruders, satisfying insurers

With the installation now complete, St Michael's College has a dependable, modern intruder alarm system to protect its site outside of school hours and during school holidays.

While the school has not experienced major problems with vandalism or break-ins in the past, a fully-functioning alarm system acts as a further deterrent, as well as helping St Michael’s to fulfil the requirements of its insurers.
